Dueling Leafblowers...

We have been visiting my dear ol' Mother the past few days... mostly, taking her shopping, out for lunch, etc. At 89, she lives on her own, still drives, but is mostly afraid of everything. She cannot understand our choice of a wandering lifestyle, but she says she's proud of how we live our lives on our own terms. It has been a nice visit.

This morning while walking Izzy, I had to stop and gawk... there are two travel trailers across the street from our site, obviously seasonal renters. A woman came out of one trailer with a leaf blower, fired it up, and started blowing the leaves away from her trailer. Then, another woman came out of the other trailer, also with a leaf blower, and started doing the same. Now, I understand how some people living in an RV could possibly miss yard work (no, I really don't Roll Eyes)... but, plant a flower in a pot or something. I mean, come on, this went on for the better part of an hour each. I'm pretty sure they were blowing the same leaves back and forth at each other. laugh laugh There are LOTS of trees here, plenty of leaves on the ground, and LOTS more to go. Oh, and the wind was forecast to blow about 25 mph today. Can you say: futile? grin Pretty sure I could come up with a more productive hobby.

It's a little out of the way, but we have decided to swing through Chanute on our way to the Tropical Tip. We'd like to take a look at some of the new HitchHiker models on display. I see for 2011 they have moved our model to the DA line. We really like the open feel of our HH. Sure would be nice to have a desk. And Big Foot levelers. And...
