A whole day off...

Really. The only time we went to the marina was after a nice motorcycle ride through the park... and that was just to check on the status of our Coast Guard inspection. (Went fine.) We took the motorcycle out for the first time in a couple weeks... rode south to Signal Mountain Lodge for a nice lunch out, then down through the Jenny Lake area, into Moose, then out and around on the "outside loop" road.

Grand Teton National Park roads are laid out so that every turn shows off a spectacular new vista. The mountains look different as you ride from north to south than they do when you reverse your course. The roads are good, even with the 45 mph speed limit in much of the park. The V-Strom is a great bike for these roads - lightweight, comfortable, with plenty of power and torque.

The campsites down from us haven't been occupied until this past week while there is work on the water pipes... little Izzy has had the run of the place. She walks on her leash along her favorite "route" through those sites. But, since this past weekend, the sites are again occupied, so she has had to confine her walks to closer to home. Today, the sites were vacant again, so she got to play "jungle cat" while walking through the woods. She is a happy little girl.
