The Saturday Market...

The morning view from the cockpit...

We took our time getting up and about, then headed for the Saturday Market in Ganges.  Since the Fair is going on concurrently, we thought the crowds might be a bit smaller to start.  Um, nope...

Plenty of booths: fruits, veggies, clothing, food, jewelry, and all sorts of arts and crafts.  A friend told us, "Ganges has become quite an art community."  Translation: lots of hippie types.  Not that that's a bad thing.  It truly is an interesting community, and fun to visit.

We made a pass through the market to see what we could find for food.  At one end was a small booth selling breakfast sandwiches - your choice of some kind of toasted healthy bread or "dough-boy" (deep fat fried dough).  Yes, Joan had one, I had the other... mine was way better.  Then, another walk through...

I didn't take photographs of all the artsy booths - a lot of the artists don't want you to do that, for fear that you might copy their work.  I understand.  Lots of pretty things to look at; not much room in a boat to take stuff home.  We did see the guy selling tye-die stuff... same guy, he even had a "guitar shirt" like the one I bought 5 years ago.  You'd think a free-spirited tye-dye type would continue to update his wares... you'd be wrong. ;-)  Plenty of other wearable art.  I liked the premise of one booth that advertised "Up-cycled Clothing" - cut the sleeves off old sweaters and make them leg warmers for kids.

And, what song does this booth remind you of...

That's right: "Baby Got Back"... I like big bugs, and I cannot lie... :-D

We wandered around town a bit more, with a stop at a pizza place (my idea of cruising) and another round at the grocery store.  Here's Joan's fruit and veggie arrangement on the boat...

Yep - looks good enough to eat!

Little Izzy was hiding out when we got back...

There is a lot more noise and commotion at this marina, especially on a weekend.  Plenty of boats in and out since yesterday.  We laid down for a short afternoon nap (full stomach ;-) ), but a sport fisher pulled in right in front of us with their stereo blasting... apparently not head bangers, though; it was a loud new-agey version of the BeeGees "I Need Your Love."  Yeah, I would be embarrassed, too.

We are back to the islands in Canada: they charge you to take your garbage here.  We remember how to crush and compact.  We'll be heading out in the morning... not sure where.
