Launching, and caring for acid hands...

No, not Wild Blue, she's been in the water for over a week.  Our friends, Herb and Wilma, were ready to launch their Ranger Tug; we offered the ramp on our island... easy and not crowded.  The only consideration for them is: there is a swingbridge between the ramp and their side of town... we had to coordinate the timing so they could launch and not have to wait for a long time for the bridge to open.

Herb called us around 3:30 to let us know he was heading our way with the truck and trailer.  We stopped to pick up a key for the ramp and met them there.  The Ranger has a mast that holds the radar that has to be lowered for trailering... Herb raised the mast, put out fenders and lines, undid straps... I hopped into his truck, backed it down the ramp while Joan guided me.  Once in deep enough, the boat slid off the trailer; Joan held lines while Wilma boarded the boat, and they were off.

I rinsed off the trailer while Joan took the key back, then we took their truck and trailer back to their house.  Along the way, I heard from Herb - his boat feels like it is supercharged... unloading a couple thousand pounds of cruising gear will do that! ;-)  We feel the same way about Wild Blue when we get back from a season on the boat.

We stopped at the marine store in town, hoping to find a SmartPlug connector so I can make a 15 amp adapter to make it easier to connect to power at the house... they had never heard of such a thing.  The guy looked it up, whistled about "that thing is pretty spendy," but never offered to order it for me.  No problem - we have the internet! ;-)

Work goes on around the house.  What used to be the office is evolving into the music room.  These things take time.

It's been a few days since Izzy was featured here - allow me to correct that...

Being cute all the time is exhausting... I understand what she is going through. ;-)

I did manage to do an on-line review for a Taylor Guitar forum, regarding PrePlay.  No, nothing to do with foreplay, this is stuff you put on your hands before you play guitar to neutralize the acid in your hands so it doesn't affect the strings.  I can believe I have iron poor tired blood (anyone remember that add from the Ted Mac Original Amateur Hour?), but acid hands?  Really?

Ah, yes, a review on the Tusq pick, too.  Who know picks make such a difference with guitar playing?  I have been making my own and like those even better than the commercial offerings.

Ah, yes, Charlie. (For those who didn't see it, there was a "comment" that stated they were very interested in "this topic" then tried to direct you to their website.) No getting away from the lowlifes... but you can "zap" them. Gone. Now, if only there was some way to do that with all the political ads. ;-)
