Playing for the championship!

The WNBA playoff game wasn't the only athletics we saw this week.  Tonight, we had great seats for the District Championship Games... we have an in with the coach.

Our son-in-law, Dan, is the coach.  The team is the Rainbow Valley Middle School Coyotes.  The game is boys' volleyball.  Dan's team won their playoff game on Tuesday, tonight is for the championship.

For championship games, the kids get to use the high school gym (kind of a big deal)...

Dan gathered his team around, gave them their last minute pep talk...

and the game was on...

The first one was a tight game, but at the end, the Rainbow Valley Coyotes were victorious...

On to the second game.  The Coyotes came to win... at one point, it was 14 to 2, their favor.  Dan gathered them around for more strategy...

The final score...

To the victors go the trophy...

Congratulations, Dan and team!

And, in other Rainbow Valley School news, Stephanie had her first day in class with a boot instead of a cast...

Kind of a "half storm trooper" look.  I don't think it's going to catch on.  On the bright side, she can start to put some weight on the leg... even take some steps without the crutches.  And, she got to soak her leg in the bathtub tonight for the first time.  Another victory! ;-)

An early day for all of us tomorrow: they have to be to school early for a PTO breakfast; the Wild Blue Crew (without Wild Blue) will head east, trying to make a bunch of miles... we'll be headin' for home.
