A day off, sorta...

No access to the boat today, that's why we went after it so hard yesterday.  So, we slept in... sorta.  Our internal clocks are still on the Central Time Zone - sleeping in means we were up and at 'em at 6:00.  After cleaning up, we had breakfast here at the inn; it's a Continental Breakfast, but a good start to the day.

We made a trip for supplies... not too much stuff, 'cause the truck and trailer are pretty full.  There are some things that are way more expensive on San Juan Island (like cat food for Izzy and Biscoffs for me) that we can make room for.

Lunch out, and Izzy came with us.  Not into the restaurant, but she enjoyed lunch in the truck.  This allowed the maid to come in and freshen up our room, without scaring the daylights out of Izzy with the vacuum cleaner.  She wasn't quite done with the room when we came back, so we made a trip down to the marina area for some ice cream.  Then, a side trip to the waterfront...

As you can see from the beautiful blue sky, the weather weasels called it wrong again today - they were calling for rain.  When the sun is out here, it is a spectacularly beautiful blue.  We didn't have Izzy's leash along, so she didn't get to take a walk with us.  Next time.

Izzy was confused when we got back to the room... after all the traveling this past week, I think she was expecting a different room.  She has handled all the changes fine; we'll see how she does when we are able to move back on the boat.  Hopefully, in a few days.

I got a shock today.  No, not the electrical kind - the monetary kind.  Joan asked me what the length is on the truck, and the length and height of the cargo trailer.  The Washington State Ferry charges are based on length and height.  Twenty feet on the truck, thirteen feet on the trailer, 7' 5" tall.  I measured it.  I "guessed" the price for the truck and trailer on the ferry would be around $100 (it is about $60 for just the truck, under 22' price).  Add the cargo trailer on there, and we suddenly become a "BIG RIG", I guess... the cost will be just over $250.  Gotcha!  Around $26 each for the scoots, if we use those to go to and from America.  I sure as hell won't be hauling the trailer back and forth.  Once on, once off.  Not to be confused with wax on, wax off - that was yesterday.  ;-)
