Big Red keeps looking over her shoulder...

Is there something back there??

It wouldn't be a trip to or from the Tropical Tip if there wasn't a lot of wind; out of the south, gusty and warm.  Only about 25 miles with a crosswind, until we get to the Expressway and catch a tailwind heading north.

Big Red pulls like a sports car with that little trailer behind her...

The load inside has been doing fine... a few whoop-de-doos on these Texas roads where I think the trailer may have caught some air.

Little Izzy did fine; came out of her carrier to let the officer at the Customs/Homeland Security check point see her.  Traveling like this, she gets to have her "travel suite" (carrier), food, water, and private bathroom facilities right there... no RV or boat to go back to.

We made miles and are down for the night, still in Texas... in a nice motel.  We cashed it in a bit early today, and will go after it again tomorrow... and the next day... and the next... and...

Big Red is getting better than 15 miles per gallon.  What we are saving in fuel gets paid out for motels.  As we pulled into town, I saw a place that said, "Rooms starting at $29"... I asked Joan what she thought about that: "Yeah, it looks like a $29 place."  We moved on.

With an early start, we might get out of Texas by late tomorrow.
