Car Show...

Joan saw an advertisement for a Car Show in Sun City West - should be fun.

Leaving our 55+ resort, driving through Sun City Grand, then into Sun City West, you really appreciate the "active adult lifestyle."  It looks like an ad for feminine hygiene products: people running, biking, golfing, playing tennis... well, except most of these people wouldn't be the target audience for those products.

It is a beautiful day, and people are out and about.  We took the scooters to the car show... about a mile before getting to the venue (in a large parking lot), we began to see signs for "Car Show satellite parking - Shuttle served."  The lots weren't full, but it was early.  This is going to be a bigger deal than I thought.

When we got there, they had people directing traffic - we managed to find a parking spot for the scoots in the parking lot next to the show.  Yep, this looks like it is going to cover a lot of ground - on with the show...

It was an eclectic mix of cars: new, antique, hot rods, foreign, custom... the emphasis seemed to be on muscle cars - lots of pretty paint and flames...

Love that '69 Firebird (3 images above).

The image above is a new model from Polaris, a three-wheel screamer.

A good turn-out with the crowds...

Some bikes (aincluding a Honda Passport)...

They weren't all shining examples...

I had one just like this - same color, too...

Anyone remember these?

New and old together...

A fun show.  The price was right (free).  The weather was perfect.  We topped it off with a stop for some ice cream before riding west from our resort.  You see just how close to the edge of civilization we are: 2 minutes west of us, and you are surrounded by nothing but desert.
