McFarland...

At home, when it's a rainy day, we try to take in a movie.  Haven't seen much rain around here this season, until yesterday.  And today.

We made the trek to the AMC Theaters near the stadium.  Joan had checked them out on a movie app... who knew you could find a current movie for $5, at a nice theater, in the big city.  We decided to see McFarland.

I knew the premise: Kevin Costner as a cross-country coach in a small, mostly Hispanic, town.  Beyond that, I didn't know what to expect.  Turns out, it was a great movie.  Very engaging.  Two enthusiastic thumbs up from these "critics" (who, admittedly, haven't been to a movie in a couple months).

Maybe because we are familiar with communities like this one?
