The joint is jumpin'...

Busy weekend here in the Tropical Tip.

Kinda quiet in our resort; we went out for lunch at Pier 19, on the island.  Lots of traffic coming and going on the causeway.  Market Days at the Lighthouse Square - not a thing we need, but there was a good crowd there.

A bit of rain overnight, but just a hazy overcast today.  The high is supposed to be in the upper 70s with a light breeze.  Pretty darn pleasant, actually.

At the restaurant, our timing was good - we got one of the last tables before there was a wait.  This restaurant is built on a pier, so you sometimes feel the movement of the water.  Adds to the ambience.  The crowd is different from when we left here in January - the winter Texans have mostly migrated back north, and the Valley folks are here; families with kids, younger couples.

We had a great view of the water from our table; looks like all the excursion and bay fishing boats are out and about, with good crowds on them.  Good for the local economy.  Yes, we did see some dolphins playing, too.

We took a drive by the beach on the way home - WAY busier than a couple days ago (well, duh, it's the weekend).  Mostly Texas license plates.

There are banners up for next weekend's event: Beach and Biker Fest.  "Get yer motor runnin'!"
