Daily Driver...

That's what you call the vehicle you use on a daily basis.

For folks hauling a 5th wheel, the truck becomes the daily driver.  Since we are trying the no-tow-car thing, the scooters are our daily drivers.  Unless the weather is crap.  And, the weather has been crap.  Yesterday, with tornado warning sirens blasting, it wasn't particularly cold.  Last night, the leading edge of the front that brought snow to the western part of the state reached us... the wind blasted and the temp dropped to 39º overnight.  Specifically, the wind is currently NW @ 29, gusting to 40.  The winter weather in the Black Hills has expanded to the middle and northern part of the state.

Fortunately, we are only seeing stinging rain... that is rain that is being blasted at you at 40 mph, thanks to the wind.  We need to make a grocery run, so I unhooked the cargo trailer and our utilities, and the Aspect is the daily driver.

With winter coats, hats, and gloves on, we went to the store and out to lunch.  The outside air temp is 43º, the wind chill puts it at 33º.  The Aspect has a good dash heater and ducted furnace.  It will keep us warm while out, and while waiting for things to improve to the west.  Getting out today helps with the waiting.

Back in our site...

This afternoon, Izzy saw a Robin roaming in the grass...

Yeah, that robin is hunkering down, too... probably thinking he came back north a bit too soon.  The ground is still wet and muddy, so Izzy isn't going for walks.  I think she has cabin fever, too.

I can keep myself entertained on the computer.  Izzy, not so much...

She is up for "chasing the curser," though.  ;-)
