Part of J-Pod. We saw them towards the southern end of San Juan Island, from our boat out of Roche. Mike (J-26) was the big fellow today...
Yes, there were more impressive looks, just didn't have a chance to shoot anything else. That dorsal fin of Mike's is about 6 feet tall.
On the way north, we stopped to view a couple harbor porpoise, and were treated to a half dozen or so Dall's Porpoise swimming by the boat.
A cool cruise into the wind on the way down, and shirtsleeve warm on the way back. Summer is definitely here.
