Stupid RVer tricks...

Except for the past week, it has been months since we've been around other RVs.  There comes a time when you should quit this lifestyle.

No, this is not our time.  Nice people who run the park we are currently in... the husband escorts RVs to their site and helps them get parked.  Since we had to get the scooters out of the trailer before we backed in (not enough length in the site to get the ramp down on the back of the trailer), I told the guy we'd be fine getting ourselves parked.  He said, "I have another rig to get parked, but I'll be right back."

By the time he got back, we had the scoots out, the motorhome and trailer parked and leveled, and most of the utilities hooked up.  He was guiding a guy with a motorhome into the site next to us.  He had to tell the driver which way to turn his steering wheel as he backed in.

This morning, the guy in that motorhome came around to dump his sewer... and proceeded to dump it all over the ground.  Well, the ground that would be our patio area.  He did this repeatedly... Joan said that he'd hook up the hose, pull the valve and it would all come loose.  Repeatedly.  Then, he stood in that mess, handled the sewer hose without gloves, and wiped his hands on his sweater.  He finally got a towel out and wiped the mess in his sewer compartment, then laid that towel over the connection to his fresh water hose!  Then, put the nasty sewer hose in an outside compartment above the floor line... you just know that is going to ooze.  Then, put his fresh water hose in a compartment right below that one!

Ewwwww!  Excrement does run downhill.

Now, I will admit that we rented a motorhome back in the 80s, and I didn't know how to operate the waste valves.  I should have known I wasn't doing it right when people across the road from us began to set up chairs so they could watch my antics.  It wasn't pretty.  But, I didn't do it over and over again.

Hint: pulling the valve in the sewer compartment does NOT make the hose pop out.

Lots more movement in the park this morning - our neighbor did pull out.  After he stood there, looking at the mess for a while.  Another hint: standing there looking at the mess does not make the mess go away.

Just like boating, all it takes is money not brains.

Anyone can make a mistake. It's when someone keeps making it that you have to wonder. ;-)
