Village Fest...

It is the Thursday Night event in Palm Springs.  Art, high-end craft items, jewelry, music, food... it reminds me a bit of the Spearfish Festival in the Park, except that is one weekend in July, and this is every Thursday.  All year long.

They block off 6 blocks of the main street in downtown Palm Springs, plus the side streets.  It officially starts at 6:00, we got there just before 5:30... and all the parking spots on the street were already taken.  A nearby casino, however, provided us with a place to park.  And not just us - there were plenty of people walking towards the Village Fest.

Some daylight left when we first got there...

The crowds were reasonably light, and not all the booths were set up, yet.  By 6:00, it was wall-to-wall people...

Live music on each street corner.    Booths as far as you can see...

At the booth above, they weren't selling anything - they were giving away cupcakes for the anniversary of The Friends of the Library.

Continuing the Fest walk...

Some of the booths had "No Photograpy" signs; understandable.  Some very unique items for sale.

Of course, a California street artist...

A fun evening.  Well, except for the tired feet... I think it is easier to walk at a regular pace, rather than doing the dodge-the-gawkers shuffle.

The permanent shops, bars, and restaurants were doing a good business, as well.  One art gallery had a booth on the street, right in front of their gallery.  Smart.  We picked up a cheeseburger right before we were ready to leave.  Tasty.  They were grilling/selling burgers and brats as fast as they could ring them up.  The line moved fast, and the burger was excellent.  Not: oh-my-feet-are-tired-and-I'm-hungry good... I'm talking 5-Guys good.  Maybe better.

The "healing water" felt good when we got home.  :-)
