Well, that's different...

We enjoy our Sirius/XM satellite radios.  I find lately I have been listening to Watercolor (Channel 66, cool jazz).

This morning, Joan said, "This is Yacht Rock Radio.  Channel 18.  I guess you're supposed to listen to this while out on your yacht."  The announcer sounds like Thurston Howell III.

Our "land yacht" will have to do.  Pretty mellow stuff.  Christopher Cross, Steely Dan, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Beach Boys.  Seems pretty similar to Margaritaville Radio.  Without the Jimmy Buffett music.

While checking out the Acoustic Guitar Forum, there was a post about "Songs you should never play while in a guitar store..."  Yeah, it's an old guitar player's joke: crank up "Stairway To Heaven!"  Some stores have signs (joking) posted: "No STH!"

I tried Yacht Rock a few weeks ago and enjoyed it the first day. The second day seemed to be a repeat of a limited playlist. I soon went back to Cool Jazz ch 67.

Yeah, Henry... I did say that Joan put that station on. I know what you mean. I just thought it was kinda funny that it was called "Yacht Rock Radio." A bit of an oxymoron. ;-)
