90...

Not how old I feel.  Nor my hair style.  Definitely not the temperature.  No, today, we were making miles on I-90.  On the way up here, we stayed mostly on two lane roads - until we get a ways east, we are on "the slab."

This morning, Izzy was looking longingly out the door...

"Can I go outside?  Can I?  Can I?  Oh, pleeeeeeeeeeze!?!"

"Sorry, Iz - it is muddy out there.  Plus, we have to roll."

It was a bit foggy at first...

Climbing as we rolled east, that cleared...

Getting some color in the trees.  Looking towards the west at a Rest Area...

Mt. Rainier in the distance.  Little Izzy said, "I'm camping!"  That is her pop-up tent... sitting on the bed, while we're going down the road...

Over the mountains and continuing east, it looks pretty dry...

Yes, that is a dust devil in the photo above; haven't seen those (and there were several of them) since we were in New Mexico and Arizona.

The motorhome has a big enough fuel tank that we can make it across the state - gas is about 30¢ per gallon cheaper across the border in Idaho.  I called an RV park I could see while fueling the coach to see if they had a spot... "Only back-in sites left."

"Back-ins are no problem for us."

"But, you have a cargo trailer - you won't be able to reach the utilities at the back of the site."

"The trailer isn't that big... OK, thanks for your time."  You have to know when to say when.  There is a Cabela's and a Walmart nearby - no hookups, no charge.  We opted for the Cabela's...

We found a spot where other RVs are parked, next to a cart corral (no one will be parking on that side, but there is room for the CR-V).  I checked in at Customer Service to make sure it is OK that we overnight there... absolutely.  I am sure we will do some shopping, so it won't be "no charge." ;-)

Checking weather for the next few days, these is a cold front that is coming this way - it will drop the daytime temps about 25 to 30 degrees... we'll check again in the morning, but we may just find a place to hunker down for a couple days.

Hi HRB. We didn't see J-Pod as much as the previous 4 years... their food source is way off: the salmon runs are at about 7% of the historic norm. Seems this summer, they would come in, go north to the Frasier River, then head back out again. It was a treat when we did get to see them. More transient Orcas (mammal eaters) and humpbacks this past summer - so much great wildlife in the Salish Sea!

Time for some land cruising, then back to Texas for us.
