We need to get rollin'!!

The packing up process started today... this is too much like work... we need to get on the road so I can get some rest!! ;-)

Laundry this morning - a fresh start for the road, plus we will be turning in company shirts and jackets.  Lunch out at Ernie's...

If you are a fan of flying, you have probably heard of Ernest Gann... Friday Harbor was his home, and he was a successful author.  This cafe is on the airport, and a nod to Ernie.  My brother-in-law John is a big fan; we talked about John (he gave me my first flying lessons when I was 16) and the influence he has been in my life.

From there, it was off to the grocery store - one last shot at contributing to the local economy.  We saw this at the store...

Free fruit for kids to eat while the family is shopping... better for them than candy.  Nice.

Then, back to the coach and the packing up process.  When you are in one place for several months, you want to be comfortable.  We don't travel lite... or live lite.  First order of business was getting the e-bikes off the rack on the back of the coach, folded up, and strapped down in the back of the CR-V...

We moved the cargo trailer with the Honda, positioning it so it will be easier to hook up and head out with the motorhome.  Then, getting the trailer ready for the road...

The trailer is the "garage" for the scoots when we're down for a while; we remove the chocks - less to trip on as we come and go with the scoots.  But, for hauling them down the road, the chocks go back on and the scoots get strapped down...

Izzy watched with interest as we pulled up the patio mats... "So, whatcha doing?"

"It is time for us to head out, Iz."

"You're taking me away from my yard?  The grass?  My deer friends?"

"Yeah, pretty much - it is time."

I aired up the tires on the cargo trailer.  We put away the patio chairs.  All that is left for tomorrow is checking tires on the coach, dumping the holding tanks one more time, and taking back our company uniforms.  On Thursday, we'll unhook utilities, hook up the trailer to the motorhome, and head for the ferry.
