Cat on a shelf...

It's the newest craze - way cooler than an Elf on a Shelf!

Little Isabella has lots of places to get comfy in the house.  Frequently, she sits at one end of the couch, usually with one leg draped over the arm of the couch.  Yesterday, she had both legs draped over...

That gives you an idea of how long those legs are, with all that fur... she is long and lean under that.  No, she doesn't get that from me.

This morning, after her breakfast, I didn't see her at her usual morning spot on the couch; instead: a cat on a shelf...

That isn't a solid shelf; I can't imagine it is comfortable (and there are plenty of other soft places for her to lounge), but every once in a while, that's the spot she picks.  It wasn't long before that early morning light was reflecting off the tile floor...

A "glamour shot" - check out the catch lights in her eyes...

Just like a reflector we used to use in front of and below to get that "model style" lighting.  She put up with the "photo shoot" for a while, then positioned herself so I couldn't see her...

------------------

We found a pontoon in the inventory list of the Tracker Marine Center that we really wanted to see - small and rare.  When I called the salesman to ask about it, he had to look it up... "Yeah, that would be in our storage area..."  He looked up the details on it, and it seems like just what we are looking for.  We made another trip into the Valley.

It was still in the shipping cover when we pulled up - Dave, the salesman, had it pulled out of their storage area so we could check it out...

Unwrapping it, Joan was the first one on, getting the cover off enough to thoroughly check it out...

It has the motor we want, the flooring we want, and it hasn't been out on display, having everyone climb all over it...

I climbed up to check it out - but I could tell by the smile on Joan's face that this was the end of our search...

"Let's go inside and write it up!"

While we were in there, it started raining... Dave let us know that he had one of the service guys put that delivery cover back on as soon as we went inside.  We ordered a color-matched mooring cover for it, but this will keep the dust off when it is in our storage unit.

It has to be prepped, so Thursday is as soon as we can pick it up.  That rain today - yeah, more of that predicted, with about an 80 to 90% chance of precip all week.  I'll probably hear from some of my C-Dory friends who will let me know that boating in the rain is no issue for them.  ;-)

I'm looking forward to some dolphin watching when the weather allows.

This is a departure from our previous boats.  Even the smallest (the SunCat catboat) had a cabin for overnighting.  Wild Blue was a true adventure cruiser, our home on the water for months at a time; an all-weather boat.  This will be a day-tripper, made for local sight-seeing and dolphin watching; and a level platform for taking photos.  On nice days.  ;-)

The only towing we plan to do with it will be from our storage unit to and from the boat ramp on our island.

This will be a real change for us... I'm looking forward to it.

Ok - now post your new toy on the C-Brat site. We all knew the day you sold Wild Blue you would be back at the helm again. I have been looking at 16-18 footers as I can launch without much stress. You two have too much fun!!!! Bob Jarrard

Hi Bob,

For the record, I have had plenty of helm time since we sold Wild Blue. ;-) Driving commercial boats has changed my perspective on recreational boating. Our plan was for more time RVing (and we have been doing that). We both decided it was time to have a boat here at the house again. Wild Blue is a very capable couple's adventure cruising boat, but we weren't looking to do that again, at this time. The new boat should be simple and easy - something for the two of us to go dolphin watching and sight-seeing. We'll see how it plays out.
