Dia de los muertos...

That's "Day of the Dead" for the gringos reading here.  I didn't think about that when making an appointment for a dental visit in Progreso, MX.  Turns out, it wasn't an issue... although it was scary when the dentist said, "You need a root canal and ..."

I have had two previous root canals (one in Mexico, one in Phoenix)... and they were miserably painful.  This one wasn't a cake walk, but it wasn't particularly painful.  Yet.  That's to be determined when the pain med wears off.

Why did you go to Mexico for a Dental visit??

Significant price difference. I spoke with a gentleman in the office waiting room who was from Ft Worth - he and his family used to live in the Rio Grande Valley, but still come here for their dentistry. Same with prescription drugs. The Mexican town of Progreso has a lot of dentists (and pharmacies) and mostly American patients.
