NBD...

New Boat Day.  We are scheduled to pick up the boat this afternoon, do our "orientation."  Got up this morning, and... rain...

Pounding rain.  Gusty wind (look at those palm trees).  Thunderstorms forecast... haven't heard any thunder, yet, but it would be a miserable day to be out on the water.  Timing.

No idea if we can do the orientation in their shop, but I don't see putting the boat in the water today if this forecast continues to play out.

Yeah, wouldn't want to get the boat wet.  ;-)

Joan made biscuits and gravy with sausage this morning... that'll stick to your ribs.  Still doesn't make me want to go out in this weather.  For goodness sake, it was only 68º this morning!

Driving home yesterday, we saw that plethora of political signs.  I know there is some kind of rule here that the signs have to be taken down at some date after the election, but that seems to go largely ignored.  I have an idea to make everyone's life better and possibly help us all come together... biodegradable political signs!  Guaranteed to self-destruct in a short period of time.  Kinda like rapidly disintegrating toilet paper used by RVers and boaters.  Insert your own "usage comparison" joke here.

Jim, this is my first visit to your blog. It's great. Are you in Florida and bringing a boat back to San Juan Island?

Hi Calidris - welcome aboard. Not in Florida; our home is in the Tropical Tip of Texas (same latitude as Naples or Miami, FL). Way too early to make any decisions about going back to San Juan Island, but it won't be with this boat... this is an open boat for warm weather use. It will live here in south TX.
