How much???

We rode our scoots to the next town over to get them safety inspected, a requirement as we start getting everything registered in the Lone Star State.  What a beautiful day to be out and about: sunny, a light breeze, and temps pushing 80ยบ.

Our new friend, Junior, at the mechanic shop did the inspections, took down all the pertinent info, checked our insurance, then said, "That'll be 50¢."  Yeah, for both... as in: 25¢ each to get safety inspected!  I'm guessing Junior lost money just printing out the inspection form for the state.

Later, we decided to take the scoots back out to get the current "scooter tag" - your scooter by a script-written street sign.  We looked all over our island, town, then next town, and across the causeway on South Padre Island... no scripty street signs.  We did find a Christmas display...

We got caught at the swing bridge by a barge going through...

Did I mention: what a gorgeous day?

Passing by the boat ramp, we saw this guy getting ready to launch his kayak...

Yep, a nice day for that, too.

There is a lot of stuff on the internet these days about the "Elf on the Shelf."  With no small children around, we don't have to try to keep them in line with that.  We do, however, have a cat on a shelf...

Not cushy to lay there, but she's Izzy, so she can lay where she wants.  She spends a lot of time in her "pop-up tent"...

She is happy in there.  I get that - kinda like camping... or RVing.  ;-)
