International day...

No, I didn't eat at the International House of Pancakes.  Nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

It was time for another trip across the border to get some meds.  Same stuff, much less $$.  We used to go to Mexico as a treat... have lunch, drink a limey margarita or two, pick up the meds, walk through some of the shops.  Maybe get your teeth cleaned or a haircut.

Things have changed over the years.  Even the gringo-friendly Progreso has armed guards at the border.  There have been some... incidents; not involving us.  We stayed away for a few years.  Now, we cross over, get what we need, and head back across the border.

The farmacia we have dealt with for several years moved.  When we were there last, they told us they would be moving, and where.  Turns out, they are even closer to the bridge, and less dealing with "the gauntlet" that is up and down the main drag ("Hey mister, do you want to buy ______ (fill in the blank)?  So cheap it is almost free!").

We went in, got what we needed (the price was even a little less than last time), thanked them, and headed back to the good ol' USA.

We text the kid as soon as we clear Customs ("Yep, we're back."), then get on with our day.  As long as we are going right by there, a stop at Bass Pro Shop, some other places, lunch, and back home in time for a nap.

:-)
