Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

Actually, it sucks.

Lower left corner - that 34º is the actual outside air temperature.  Facebook friends all over south Texas and Louisiana are posting photos of... snow!

Looking out on our dock...

Yes, that white stuff on the boat cover is slush.  The wind is still howling, but very little of the sleety stuff falling is sticking because it is wet everywhere.  If the temperature drops any further, it is going to be an awful mess out there.  Not likely, but it is not going to be a good day for going outside.

Joan joked: "Mother Nature must have thought Steph was coming this weekend!"

The furnace ran during the night and the electric fireplace kept the living room warm and comfortable this morning...

There was some discussion a few days ago about pulling the boat out to pressure wash the pontoon bottoms... that ain't gonna happen.  Also some talk about a run to the storage unit to take some things to the motorhome... I don't think so.

There are reports of snow sticking in some places in Port Isabel... last time we saw snow here was "the Christmas miracle" of 2004, when we got 1/4" or so on Christmas morning.  People were outside trying to scrape enough together to make pathetic little snowmen.  Some tried to scoop up enough for a snowball, then put it in the freezer to try to sell on eBay.  Yes, snow makes people crazy.  I didn't like this cold crap back then, and I don't like it now.

Grateful that we don't have to be out in it.
