On time??

The boat parade was supposed to assemble at South Point Marina at 6:00.  Never in the history of boating in south Texas has it ever started on time.  To be fair, very little starts on time here.  After some discussion, we decided to go to our bridge to view the parade about 6:10, figuring we wouldn't have to wait as long for it to get started.

As we pulled up to the bridge, there was a line of traffic... the bridge was open... and about half the boats had already gone through the bridge!  Yep, we missed that portion of the boats - we could see them in the distance.  With the scooter, we were able to "split lanes" and get right to the bridge; we hopped off and enjoyed the remainder of the boats as they passed through the open bridge...

The crowd has mostly dispersed...

Just before getting on the scooter to head back home, a shot of the full moon...

For anyone keeping track, the peak of the full moon will happen locally just before 10:00 tomorrow morning, so tonight and tomorrow night will be good moon viewing... and, this will be the "largest" moon of 2017, the only one that will qualify as a "Super Moon."  The Full Cold Moon... for those living north of the Mason-Dixon Line, no explanation for that name is necessary.

As a side note, we heard on Cash Cab (yes, it's back) that another name for the Mason-Dixon Line is... the Waffle House/I-Hop Line.  ;-)

Before heading down to the parade, I took this shot of the lights on our deck...

In years past, we have had some kind of a "centerpiece" on the middle post (a Texas Star, an angle)... the star is a goner (two sections of it didn't light up when we tried it, and neither of us wanted to play the try-every-light game).  I think we'll need something there to spruce it up a bit.
