Vet follow-up...

Little Izzy's upper respiratory and sinus problems are definitely improving.  Her fever is gone.  All good signs.

In the waiting room...

She barricaded herself in her carrier, pushing her blankie (aka a towel) up against the door...

Into the exam room, she has burrowed under the towel...

Fortunately, Izzy is pretty docile - no growling, hissing, biting, or scratching.  We do, however, have to take the carrier apart to get her out...

All was looking great until Dr. Julie made a face during the examination.  She found a lump near Izzy's trachea... "It may be nothing, or it might be serious.  If surgery is indicated, you will have to go to a specialized vet - the closest is in San Antonio.  Let's not assume the worst right now, but I would like to see her again in a week to see if that lump has gone down any.  Call me if there are any changes in the next week.  I am hoping we are being overly-cautious; we'll see if there's any reduction in the size of this lump in the next week."

Not what we were expecting to hear.  We have an appointment for another follow-up next week.
