Itchy feet...

If athletes get athletes' foot, what do astronauts get?

Missile toe!  Yuk, yuk!

We have been home for nearly 4 months - the longest time we have been in any one place other than a couple of those "fun summer job" contracts.  I am ready to go.

Due to an alignment issue on the motorhome, we need a new front tire.  OK, it is best to have those matched up, so today we drove to Discount Tire in Harlingen (closest to where we store the coach) to get new tires.  If you've read here regularly, you know we have had some... um, issues... with getting service done.  Not always; just usually.

I'll say this up front: I like Discount Tire - they get the job done quickly and their employees are friendly and they hustle.  We were there 15 minutes early for our appointment, and they got going on our tires ahead of time.

Everything was going fine until they lowered the jacks to torque up the lug nuts... seems that one young man was not familiar with how the chrome cap goes on our wheel... and he busted the rim on that cap.  Of course, the manager came out, apologized profusely, and said they will replace it... as soon as they can get another cap from Alcoa.  The good news: it isn't anything structural, purely cosmetic.  The bad news: it will be a month or so before they can get another hub shipped from Alcoa.  The old hub cannot be put back on, so we are going to look a bit tacky, if you're looking close.  Excrement occurs.  In the grand scheme of things, it isn't a big problem, just an inconvenience for the timing.  And, another service "experience."  I've said this before: it isn't generally the service that gets done, but rather the stuff they break in the process.

We'll get a front end alignment another day.  Probably.  ;-)

Maybe you get some other "Not Stock" Fancy Schmancy Hub covers and be different than all the other RVs??

Hi HRB - been a while since you commented. I was thinking some "spinner" wheels... maybe jack up the back a bit? Maybe not. ;-)
