Back to school...

If you said: "A Rodney Dangerfield movie from 1986," you get 500 bonus points.  If you're asking, "Who's Rodney Dangerfield?" get off my lawn ya damn whippersnapper!  If you have kids (or grandkids), "back to school" probably means you will be doing some shopping.  For Steph and Dan (both teachers), it means having a schedule again.

No, this isn't really a "school" situation, but more of a necessary study.  The BMW scoot Joan ordered is pretty high tech: it has a connectivity package which allows you to connect to your cell phone; a built-in navigation system; keyless start and lock; an engine monitoring system; ABS brakes and traction control; and a bunch of other stuff I haven't seen before on a scooter.

By comparison, my "classic" Vespa has a horn.  ;-)

It will be a couple weeks before we should expect to see the new scoot, so we have some time to study how all that stuff works.  We both downloaded the on-line owners manual.  All 257 pages of it.  I have spent some time the last couple nights reading through it... I'm up to page 183 and only moderately confused.  I think it will all make sense when we have the bike and can actually push buttons and twist knobs.  OK, not much in the way of "knob twisting," but there is a motorcycle specific designed mouse to navigate through the menus and selections; it is on the left grip.

A note in the owners manual talks about all the connectivity with your phone, then tells you "Do not ride distracted."  Right.

I like learning new things.  :-)

My Wife recently bought a 2015 BMW X3 SUV-- More Sh*ts & Giggles than she'll ever use.. She's learning them slowly-- God Help us if the OBC Fails..
Found it at a Estate/Divorce Sale-- Only 23g and change Miles on it.. Showroom Condition-- 5g's below KBB Value-- I tried to talk her out of it but she was due for another Vehicle..
She had a 2005 CRV That was pushing 230g-- Still ran and looked fine.. She just had to have this BMW Though-- Call it a early Retirement Present..

The Previous Owner also recently sold his 33m Azimut Yacht-- He had a Model of it for sale too at the "Divorce Sale" You can imagine what the House was like.. Had to wear Paper Booties to enter-- Westport, CT..

What a Ugly Divorce it must have been..

Play Safe-- Enjoy as always..

Hi Kent - the rest of our other vehicles are pretty low tech compared to what I'm reading about in this owners manual. The model is new enough that there aren't much in used ones out there, yet.

Good to hear the CR-V went that many miles - ours has been a champ.

Divorce Sale... that sounds awful. Well, for the couple, not potential buyers.
