Soda Sign?

That's the current scooter tag: your scoot with a hand-painted soda (pop, Coke, depending on what part of the country you are from) sign.

We decided to get the scoots out and head to the nearest BBQ place for lunch.  Knowing that we would probably go through a couple small towns on the way, I thought we might be able to find a soda sign somewhere along the way.  I would be wrong.

We are on the outskirts of Ft. Worth.  Far enough out that there are some older small towns, but also newer housing developments (all named something Ranch).

The weather weasels changed the chance of precip from zero to 20%.  There was one dark gray cloud right over us as we scooted our way to Dickie's BBQ.  No rain, but the winds were gusty, and a lot of gritty dirt in the wind.  We found a friendly two lane that took us all the way there, even though the Map App wanted to take us on a 4 lane US Highway.

Dickie's is easy and fast.  It is a chain, but has a "one store" feel to it...

Lunch was good, and plenty of it.  We swung by a nearby Walmart to get a few groceries before heading back.  The ride back was pleasant... but, no soda signs to be found.  Pulling back into the resort area, we rode by one of the reception halls...

Then, on to the gravel road that takes you to the Lodge, cabins, and RV sites...

Settling in.  Family will start showing up this evening (rehearsal dinner); Steph and Dan are flying in, arriving after 11:00, then the drive from the airport.  We will be up late to give them their room key.  I may need a nap.  ;-)

When we rolled into our site, a nice lady came over to ask how we were doing.  "Fine, thanks for asking."  We found out she is one of the owners... she mostly wanted to ask us about our scooters.  Her husband bought her a Harley, but she is intimidated by it; has dropped it "a few times."  I could see the look in her eyes while she checked out the scoots.

Yeah, I get it.  :-)
