The grand unveiling...


Joan's first quilt is officially done.  She is pleased; I think it is great!

The front...


Besides all the cutting, layout, sewing and stitching, there are hours of cuts made in it to get that fringed (frayed?) effect.  It is very striking!

And the back side...


Might be hard to see in the photo, but there are different patterns in the solid colors; cats, birds, sewing notions, and flowers in the squares with images.  I admire her work ethic - she went after it and stayed with it.  She didn't keep track of time, but I wouldn't be surprised if she has more than 100 hours into it.
