4/4/?

You probably know about our 2/2/2 policy: keep the travel down to 200 miles or less per day/settle in before 2:00 pm/stay for at least 2 days. Well, today was more like 4/4/?... we were out early so we could get in 400 miles today/we pulled into Chanute around 4:00 pm/and it'll just be one night. We plan to check out the 2011 HitchHikers in the morning and then hit the road.

Mother Nature was kind to us today, with no headwind; double digit mpg for a change. One "tight fit" in a gas station, otherwise nothing eventful. Muted fall colors all along our route... pretty, but we were expecting more bright reds and yellows; heathery colors, but still pretty striking.

We are settled in for the evening at the park in Chanute... free for 2 days. We'll only be here overnight, but free is my favorite price. ;-)
