Quiet time...

Yesterday, the marina was bustling with activity.  It was just as busy this morning, even into early afternoon.  But by late Sunday afternoon (at this point in the season), it gets pretty quiet in the marina.

I took a walk around the marina late this afternoon - LOTS of empty slips on G and H docks (mostly transient slips)...

That will change soon.

The platform 4 slips down from us is going to be renting stand up paddleboards and kayaks.  Not a lot of takers today, so the employees were out practicing...

They were doing maneuvers that would have put inexperienced folks in the water (like yoga poses and swapping boards).  Yes, they went in a few times.  Izzy and I were out in the cockpit; she sits by me when I'm playing guitar, but she had to peer out to see what all the commotion was about.

Maybe one day, when we get back to warmer water, I'll give one of those a try.  They look interesting.

And, my "Interesting Boat of the Day"...

It's a Duffy electric boat.  No, you're not going to do long distance cruising with that; but if you lived on a small lake and wanted to do a quiet sunset ride with friends, this would be perfect.  One of the businesses here has a couple of them that they rent.  Yes, I've heard the ferries blast 5 whistles at them a time or twelve. ;-)

With it being quiet, Izzy got to have some leash time on the dock.  It's too far for her to walk to get to land (and grass), so she doesn't care to go far from the boat.
