Yep, it's a boat...

First day on the Roche Harbor boat; it is definitely a different animal from the two boats we have in Friday Harbor.  The Friday Harbor boats are faster; this boat is between the two in size...

It is a comfortable riding boat, good visibility and plenty of room at the upper helm.  The guests have access to all the lower areas, including plenty of room at the bow.

We had a solid report on whales on the west side of the island, making this a closer run than it would have been from Friday Harbor.

First Orcas I've seen since we've been here.  We positioned the boat so we had a good view of a couple mother/calf couples and several singles; repositioned later for viewing a large male (Double Stuff)...

Learning this boat and its systems, I didn't have a lot of time to get photos.  The owner and I prepped the boat together, he drove on the way out, I drove on the way back.

Last night, we had supper with the previous owners - they are a great couple, and we had a lot of fun seeing them again.  Nice folks with a great home with beautiful views.  They have lamas, geese, and rabbits; hummingbirds and swallows flitting around ... I call it their private petting zoo.  We saw a couple eagles while having supper.  A very nice evening.
