Some boat time...

Tomorrow is our first official day on the job.  The boss said, "Take the boat out - go find some whales or go burn some fuel; 'till you feel comfortable."

I went through all the systems and engine, even though the boat has been out on some trips this season (yes, without me).  This cute blonde chick volunteered to be the first mate...

The captain...

Yeah, those are jackets and sweatshirts.  Our blood is still pretty thin.  Blue sky, white puffy clouds, a cool breeze, and the high was only 61º... feels cooler than that on the water.

Everything on the boat checked out fine.  I didn't go looking for whales, just put the boat through some paces to make sure everything is good.  Joan drove for a bit while I went down and checked things out while running.

A very pretty day out on the water...

An early charter on the Roche Harbor boat tomorrow.  You can be sure I'll be bundled up for the scooter ride to the other side of the island.  When we got home today, Izzy got a walk, then we checked and filled tires on all our conveyances.  Sat out in the sun for a few minutes, but the cool breeze drove us inside.

That's OK - Izzy was ready: "Isn't it about time for supper?"

"Look - birds!"

Now, about that supper...
