Day off...

I had a plan - let's go for a scooter ride and have breakfast over at Roche Harbor... they do have donuts that are apparently made with crack - eat one and you have to go back for more.  ;-)

Yeah, that didn't happen.  We were both tired from a long work week... we slept in.  Then, when we did get up, we spent most of the morning in the cockpit.  It was a relaxing way to start our days off.  Joan made us a fine breakfast, I played some guitar.  Izzy got a thorough brushing.

When we did clean up and head for the scoots, it was warm... bordering on hot.  We started our scooting about without jackets...

A bit cooler on the west side of the island, so we put on jackets and kept riding...

We made it to Roche for a late lunch.  I took a moment while waiting for our food to arrive to grab a line for our boat over there (we could see it from our table)...

I would be the old guy in the blue shirt on the dock.  Not really working, just taking the opportunity to say "Hi" to the other captain.  Then, back for lunch.  And a short walk around Roche...

More riding, back to the boat to get into shorts (it got up to 80ยบ here), then a walk for some ice cream.  On our way for ice cream, we saw our friends Joe and Ruth with their new version of R-Matey, a C-Dory 22.  So, the 4 of us went for ice cream.  We had a nice visit with Joe and Ruth.  This is their 3rd R-Matey since we've known them (2 C-Dorys and a Ranger Tug); yes, we still have the same boat.  ;-)

We ran into another C-Brat friend while coming back, Don (Knotty-C).  More visiting.  We came back to Wild Blue for a short nap... I really like days off.  Recharging is good.

This evening, I took a walk on the docks to see if I could find Bill (one of the originators of the C-Brats) and his newly acquired Nordic Tug.  It was also the opportunity to meet his wife, Dana.  And the pooches.  Nice boat, too!

Anyone ever notice that days off go faster than work days??

;-)

Ha! I felt terrible when you walked up to us on the dock and knocked on the window, only to be greeted by barks and a confused stare. Took me a good 30 seconds to realize who our guest was, hence the delayed Dana introduction. ;)

Great meeting up with you for a bit, hope to chat with you and Joan again before we depart!
