We made an offer on an RV we liked, after taking it for a test drive. Of course, it was less than the salesman came up with before we took the test drive. We did a bit of back and forth, but in the end, I guess the sales manager and I both value what we each have.
It was close.

Wow, a lot of room in that one - looked nice. I sold cars right out of college (for 2 months) - we would NEVER let someone walk away if we could do the deal. The saying was "we will be back"er's never come back - close them when they are there. Good luck in the search.
The salesman came to our 5th wheel after work. He apologized that we were so close and the sales manager wouldn't budge. Too bad he (the sales manager) didn't come look at our trade - HitchHikers are not the typical 5th wheel, and ours is very clean. I thought that was decent of the salesman. No hard feelings.
This particular one is about as small as we've found that has the room we'd like. Ah, well, another dealer, another time.
Hey Jim,
What kind is it? Looks a little like a Newmar Canyon Star.
If you feel thats the one, ck out other dealers and go back to him. But do it at the end of the month, last day as a matter of fact. Dealers get bonus' s for hitting there sales goals. They should be motivated then. Have fun and good luck!
Hi John and Kathy. It's a Winnebago Vista. Plenty of them out there, though this one is equipped just the way we would have spec'ed it out.
Hi Dave. We've bought a few RVs over the years. Neither of us are big fans of the "back and forth" dealing, but that seems to be the way most RV dealers do it. When we bought the HitchHiker, that dealer was a delight - no wheelin' and dealin' - wish he sold motorhomes.
Going to the OKC RV show this weekend. Want to look at a Thor 24' Siesta SR Sprinter. Looks great for one, maybe two people. Would love to go to Alaska for some summers either in an RV or Boat.
Hi Mark. You might want to look at this video before you go to the RV show...

Very interesting. Have a lot to learn about these things. Thank goodness I have a few years to go before I need to decide.
