When we are just making miles, I like my traveling uneventful. That is a good description of the day.
Oh sure, Mother Nature gave us a north headwind until we got to San Antonio (where we turn west), then changed the wind out of the west. That Mother Nature - what a card.
We caravanned away from the house, with me driving the Aspect with the cargo trailer and Joan behind in Big Red. No, we are not driving separate - leaving the truck in our storage unit.
With the truck locked up in storage, batteries disconnected, we were on the road together again...
The overcast you see in the above photo cleared up as we rolled north. It was cool enough for jeans, but pleasant driving. The wind cut into our mileage, but it wasn't ugly. Driving across south Texas and into west Texas, well...
We took turns driving, making it easier to stay fresh while making the miles...
It was nice to be able to go back to the bedroom and stretch out between driving shifts.
We are down for the night in what was described in the campground guidebook as: New RV Resort. Well, maybe 30 or 40 years ago. It looks like it used to be a KOA. But, the sites are level, plenty of space (not the 70' site length that was advertised, but plenty of room for us), and all we were looking for was a place to spend the night with a plug-in. It is going to get well below freezing tonight, and it will be nice to have the electric blanket. Well, that and some snuggling! :-)
