Now things are gettin' serious...

We hauled the boat to the storage unit today.  Before it can go in, the motorhome has to come out; then, backed in the boat...

Since Joan is much younger and more flexible, she slid in under the cover to prop up the seats and put dryer sheets in there (keeps out critters, smells fresh)...

We lined up the car with the coach, then put all the towing stuff on the car...

The tow bar is modular, and all the stuff on the front of the car comes off nicely, with nothing sticking out when we aren't towing.  We hooked up and drove back home - the rig tows nicely.  We swung in for gas before getting home...

We planned this length so we could fill both vehicles at the same time.  ;-)  No, not really; sometimes things just work out.  With the loading process about to get going, we grabbed a sandwich at Whataburger - looking back at the rig, hooked up...

We parked the coach alongside the house.  Joan went to work inside the house while I sanitized the water system and tanks in the motorhome.  Not too far to walk...

Not quite as bad as moving a household - I left some of my stuff in the coach... grab some socks and underwear, and I'm good to go.  Well, maybe a bit more than that.  Joan will be getting food and toiletries ready, while we start closing down the house.  Friend MJ calls it "the march of the penguins"... yeah, from the movie.  It can feel that way.

It was a short drive, but it felt good to be in the motorhome again.  Very comfortable.  Just like in the Winnebago ads: the freedom of being on the road.  They never talk about how much work it takes to get ready for the road.  ;-)
