That ain't right!

Rufus is a great cat.  We took him out on the leash this morning, and he did fine.  Oh, he has a bit of an issue with threading his leash around things... like: the picnic table, the patio chairs, the small patio table, and anything else he can find to tangle his leash around.  Even his own toes.  I have to chuckle about it, because he is a bright boy: he catches on to things right away.

This afternoon, the sky was looking ominous - there is a front coming in, and the first of the gusts coincided with our return to the coach.  In anticipation of this, we had picked up everything on our patio and put it in the cargo trailer.  As we were coming back to our coach, we could see awnings on some RVs flapping in the wind.

We decided to start up the coach and pull in the slide outs... we don't ever leave the motorhome with the large patio awning out - the winds around here can come up fast.  There are awnings built into the slide outs - they come out and go back in with the slides.  I have mentioned before about making the coach "skinny" - it is what happens when we pull the slides in.  Another thing happens as a result of that: Rufus's food and water dishes have to be moved.  When 5:00 rolled around (his feeding time - and he knows it), I got his food ready and put it down in a different location.  About 5 feet from where it usually is.  He watched me put it down, so there is no question he knows where it is... nope, he would not go to the food.

"Come on, it's right here."

"NO, that ain't right!  Rufus eats here!" he said, as he stood his ground.  After "guiding" him to the food, he had to sniff it suspiciously... "Well, it smells like my food, but it isn't where my food goes."

I said, "The food goes in your belly.  You can do this.  Come on - eat!"

"It ain't right," he mumbled with his mouth full of food.

The boy likes his routine.  ;-)
