An easy day...

Only one trip today, and it had promise to be an easy one: a couple chartered the boat, a good whale report, lovely weather.

They were a very nice couple from the San Francisco area, and they wanted to see whales.  They arrived early by seaplane and were delighted that we depart early.  Other than Cattle Pass, the water was pleasant, and the pass wasn't bad.  We saw whales... she was hoping to see an Orca breach... she got her wish.  We watched eagles chasing down a seagull.  Made a little side trip to see a Minke whale.  A trip to an eagle's nest, where we saw Mr. & Mrs. Eagle.  A Stellar Sea Lion swimming by some rocks.  Harbor seals and harbor porpoise.  Beautiful scenery.

They were delighted with their tour, and it was a treat for us to give all our attention to one couple.  They hit it off nicely with our naturalist.  The boat handles like a sports car with a light load.  And, did I mention: only one trip today.

Tomorrow is normally a day off for us, but I have a water taxi trip.  I took this same group out last year... take them to another island... wait for them... take them back.  It's a big group - it will be a full boat.
