Living large...

The first of two days off.  The glamorous life of a boat captain and the lady who keeps the boat seats full... today, we walked to a nearby restaurant for breakfast.  Service was slow, but the food was good.

Big Red got parked in the dirt yesterday at Roche Harbor.  Not even gravel... dirt.  Dry, silty dirt.  She was also used for target practice by some birds, probably seagulls (aka flying rats).  She was in dire need of a bath.  There is no automatic car wash on this island, but there is a two-bay do-it-yourself car wash... with one bay out of commission.  Half a roll of quarters later, Big Red was looking good again...

That's in the parking lot of the grocery store... we needed to put the miracle cloths somewhere to dry while we shopped.  That's right - more fun stuff: grocery shopping.  I did get some double-dipped chocolate covered peanuts, so it wasn't all fruit and healthy stuff.  A guy with a Dodge 2500 pickup offered to trade me vehicles... way fewer miles than Big Red... thanks, but no thanks.

While Joan put away groceries, I took Izzy for a short walk.  I know what you're thinking: that is SO cool!  Uh huh.

And now, Izzy and I are sitting quietly in the cockpit of Wild Blue while Joan takes a nap.  Yes, the adrenaline is pumping!!

This evening, we are having dinner with the couple who used to own the business we work for currently.  Nice folks.  We're looking forward to seeing them again.
