Dinner with the boss...

No, not one-on-one.  He and his wife had the whole staff to his place last night for bar-b-que.  I am still in awe of the staff he assembles for the season.  While it goes without saying that he has great taste in boat captains and office staff ;-), the kayak guides who take people on multi-day trips are amazing young people.  And, the naturalist/first mate staff - all degreed biologists who are great boat hands.

Since retiring, Joan and I have had some interesting summer experiences, and have been impressed with the quality people who want to work for just a few months.  Some go to ski areas and do winter work, then move on to summer things... a nomadic life that provides interesting experiences, as long as you don't have other family commitments.  One young lady who works with Joan in the office is a teacher - this fits her summer schedule.  It's a great mix.

It was fun to visit with everyone outside the work environment.  With the size of the staff, I also met a couple people I haven't seen before.  "Hi - do you work here, too?" ;-)
