It's often said we have two seasons here in the Tetons: winter and July. The mosquitoes have been tough this season, due to the long wet winter and spring. Tonight on Elk Island, the mosquitoes were out in droves. Oh, we always have 'em there, but tonight they were relentless. To the point where we actually left the island early... and went for some extra boat cruising instead. The meal was great, as usual, but the damn skeeters just kept getting worse. Once in the boat, we were able to leave 'em behind.
It was an unusual evening, weather-wise: clear, warm, and almost no breeze... good for the mosquitoes, bad for the people in their attack zone.
I would post the photos I took of 'em, but they carried my camera away. ;-)
