We live different when we're on the boat - we play cards and Yahtzee most evenings. Izzy sits by us, but the lure of the dice often gets to be too much for her...
Take away your attention for just a second, and she goes for it...
Then, as quick as she strikes, she is outta there...
We walked around the town of Friday Harbor today... had some BBQ for lunch, checked out a used book store, and got a feel for what is where. It is not a big city, but you can get almost anything you need.
When we got back, we saw that our batteries were not charging. I have never been a big fan of the Guest onboard charger (the second one, the first died not long after we took delivery of the boat). I downloaded a PDF for troubleshooting... there should be a fuse at the charger or at the battery. Surprise - we have 'em in both places. Two of them were fried. That took care of one side of the charger, but the other side still isn't quite right. Still, we can flip switches and get all the batteries charged, so we're good. Even when plugged in, there are a lot of things on the boat that draw 12v power: lights and water pumps foremost. We're good again.

One of those Guest chargers came with Verboten. I tried it once, to top off the nearly fully charged battery before our San Juans trip, after about 10 minutes I could hear the battery acid sizzling. I unplugged it and haven't used it since. I should probably just remove it.
There are red and green lights on the charger that show when it is supposed to be charging, and backing off when the batteries are fully charged. Can't say I trust that, though. I use one of the 12v plug charge indicators (the kind that fits in the cigarette lighter socket) to keep a close watch. Over-charging isn't good, either.
