It was 81º when we left on Saturday morning... only 52º when we got back late this afternoon. Yep, another norther blew in.
BUT, it was freezing cold the whole time we were in Dallas. It was 27º and occasional icy/snow pellets this morning. And some people think Dallas is "down south." ;-)
We detoured off the Interstate for a bit, to get around a collision on an icy bridge in the Waco area. Traffic was backed up for miles... Joan routed us off the super-slab, through town, and back on beyond the mess. With the help of the GPS and the mapping in her iPhone.
In spite of the cold, we had a good time with her family; fun to visit with everyone. We are the only ones of Joan's siblings with no grandkids... but we are great aunt and uncle several times over. Some of the grandbabies were there... "Um, want to see photos of our cat?" ;-)
Lots of miles in a short time. As much as I like Big Red, the rental car ate up the miles, getting better mileage than we could have managed in the truck... more than paid for the difference.
Little Izzy took care of herself while we were gone, with the help of an automatic feeder. We were anxious to find out if she'd be happy to see us or mad that she had to stay be herself... yeah, she was happy. What a little sweetie. Umm, want to see pictures of my cat? ;-)
