Immediate gratification...
When I posted the image of that Emerald X20 a couple days ago, I forgot to mention one thing: it will be leaving Ireland soon, on its way to Arizona. Yes, I bought it, the day it was announced. The look of that guitar blew me away, and I already have an Emerald (X7), so it wasn't quite the leap of faith that the first purchase was.
I was on the fence about ordering a custom Emerald... I like the look with the exotic wood veneer, but didn't think I could be patient enough for a 5 month wait. Then, this February Select Series came to me in an e-mail from Emerald. I was thinking a cocobolo... until I saw the louro preto wood. It didn't just push me off "the fence," it knocked me head over heels!
Having made the purchase on Friday, it was already after business hours in Ireland. The guys from Emerald made it happen for me. I knew it wasn't going to be the record setting "4 days from Ireland to south Texas" trip that the X7 made last May. This new X20 will go out some time this week.
Joan said, "Happy Valentine's Day!"
Here's a few more looks...
This morning, I received some photos from Sean at Emerald, showing the production with that louro preto...
That is Alistair (the owner) in the image above.
I am excited. Anxious to see it in person. Doing my best patient impersonation.

I don't know much about Guitars-- It looks very Pretty though.. Hand Crafted and not made in China!! I'll bet it will sound as good as it looks and Jerry would of wanted one..

Play Safe Kids-- Kent..
Thanks, HRB. There have been a couple impromptu jams in other parks in the past. Could happen.
Patty here. You have GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome, although GAS is a pretty funny acronym). It's a beauty.
Hi, Patty. It was all about the timing. I have been considering an X20 for several months... going back and forth between ordering a custom and waiting 5 months, or getting a basic and being able to buy it now. This came up and blew me away. Joan was very encouraging. It all came together at the right time. Just waiting for it to go through final inspection by Alistair and shipped.
