Baby Day...

Nope, still didn't have another baby.  Nope, no kitten; sweet little Isabella is just enough.

Out on the boat today; a hazy, warm day.  The "baby" part...

We saw several dolphin babies today!

Out the canal...

Zoom in close on that same image, and...

We turned right out of our canal, and called for an opening with the swing-bridge.  Through and into the Laguna...

"Light chop on the bay" - true to the marine forecast.  No big deal.  LOTS of excursion and small fishing boats out and about today...

We steered clear of them - and got our first dolphin view...

Looks like the one on the left lost the top of his dorsal fin...

Sadly, that isn't unusual around here... small fishing boats run fast and right over the top of the dolphins.  A seagull photobombed this dolphin shot...

Heading towards the southern tip of South Padre Island, we passed this guy perched on a daymark...

Coming out of Sea Ranch Marina, another excursion boat...

At the southeast tip of the island, we waved to George (dolphin watch operator), who also drives a pontoon...

Steering clear once again, we found more dolphins...

A couple people were out on stand-up paddleboards in the jetties area...

No, I have never paddled there, and wouldn't - way too much boat traffic and wake.  Speaking of the jetties, weekends are busy here, with people fishing and walking out on the riprap...

Still some lumpy water left over from the previous days' wind - we didn't run out to the end of the jetties; check out the water splashing out there...

Again, looking over the jetties and onto the famous South Padre Island beach...

More boats (and Texas flags)...

This is why these boats are known as "head boats" (pack 'em in)...

And, more dolphins!  Look at that pretty face...

Another baby with the group...

A close encounter - so close that the camera cut off part of this dolphin alongside us...

The tail above - it happened alongside one of the excursion boats when almost everyone on board was looking the other way...

Heading up the ship channel, more dolphins...

We waved good-bye to this group as we cruised west.

We were enjoying the lovely weather and water; turning into our canal to head for home, a few more views of some of the birds along the way...

Nice to be out today.  The weasels are calling for a chance of rain the next two days - we'll see how that plays out.
