Naked vs Nekkid...

I was thinking about this while enjoying some time in the hot tub this morning.  No, I'm not intending this to get into TMI territory.  That said, in a private hot tub, clothing can be problematic.  If there is any detergent (or softener) left in the garments, it comes off in the water... turning the jet action into a soapy mess.  You see this frequently in public hot tubs, like in some RV resorts.

Back to the "naked vs nekkid" in the title: do you know the difference?  Some might think one is the Southern (or redneck) pronunciation of the other.  Au contraire mon frère... "naked" means you are wearing no clothes; "nekkid" means you are wearing no clothes and you're up to something.

The only thing I am up to in the hot tub is relaxing.  Watching planes fly over.  At night, looking at the stars.  I truly enjoy this hot tub - it has been easy to maintain.  It has good insulation.  It has a "cleaning cycle" that keeps the water fresh feeling.

Is it "in view" for anyone in public?  No.  Well, there is one house at the top of the west end of South Mountain that may have a view into our yard... but they'd really have to be working at it.  And, the tub gets more use at night.  Yes, there is a lovely, ever-changing color light in the hot tub.

Have I ever been naked in public... and up to something?  Hey, you asked, so don't cringe when I answer your question.  None of your business.  Whew!

Back in our boating days, one of the places we enjoyed cruising was Lake Powell.  I was told that the lake is a "clothing optional" area.  I don't know that for a fact.  But (no pun intended), there are many areas where you are out of sight of anyone, especially not during the summer months.  This photo was posted years ago in our boat cruising days...

I was 30 pounds heavier back then, so it would now take a smaller "opps square" to cover that area.  But, no, I wasn't up to something other than enjoying a bit of skinny-dipping.  Or chunky-dunking, as the case may be.  You should not have asked, huh?
