A full moon tonight. The full moon in February was dubbed the "Snow Moon" due to the heavy snowfall typically seen this time of year, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac, which first began publishing names for full moons in the 1930s.
No snow in the Phoenix area but the sky was mostly overcast tonight. I "stalked" the moon, waiting for it to show its shiny self through thin areas in the clouds. Different looks...
None were a clear view of this month's full moon... but it made for some interesting viewing.

With clear and 14° conditions we sure got lit up by the Snow Moon last night. I could see shadows from tree limbs on the.... snow whenever looking out. Lucy came and went a lot through her flap but never stayed out very long. We expect some more of the white stuff this afternoon, with a high of 31°.
Hi Earl. The weather weasels changed their precip predictions for us: they were originally calling for a 70% chance of rain on Thursday night and Friday... now, it is 14%. 14%?? That's pretty specific; makes it sound like they are right on it. I will admit that a full moon lighting fresh snow can be pretty - still don't want to be in it, though. The clouds here last night were interesting: the bottoms of the clouds were being lit by the city lights, making it seem pretty bright without the full effect of the moon. Stay warm!
Well, our storm has now hit big time. This is like real winter! Blowing snow at 15G25 acculating 2" in an hour while I was out at lunch. It's a good day to be in indoor kitty as we like to say. Gonna turn up the thermostat a couple of degrees now....
Wow - I do not miss winter storms. The snow would pile up fast when we lived in the Black Hills; I feel your pain. Being an "indoor kitty" sounds right. Hire a kid to shovel the walk while you have a hot chocolate.
