Morning Views...

A little "shadow play" on the wall as the sun comes up...

Murphy enjoying some outdoor time first thing in the morning...

Later, I decided to give the HoverAir X1 Pro a short test behind my scoot.  I didn't want to take on the traffic on the mountain on this beautiful morning - it was 70º outside just after 6:00 am.

I kinda geared up and punched the button to have the X1 follow me.  It apparently didn't like my helmet, as it asked me "hold the camera so the subject is in view."  I raised the face section and gave it another try - yep, good to go...

This was just a short test, in the neighborhood.  Next time, I'll try it on some twisty roads.  One step at a time.

Very cool that it would follow your around, like a puppy.

Dare I say: better than a puppy - it doesn't poop or chew on the furniture. Yeah, kidding (for the benefit of dog lovers who read here). The X1 Pro does have a pretty good follow feature. I want to test it out in different situations before taking it on a twisty mountain road where retrieving it if it goes astray might require climbing/descending skills that I don't have. ;-)

The original version of the X1 had an elementary follow mode (slow, but reasonably accurate). This X1 Pro has some significant upgrades and is supposed to be able to keep up with following up to 26 mph. Definitely better for bicycle following than a motorcycle. It also has better manual control ability, with the addition of a beacon and joysticks. If we ever go anywhere fun again, I think it will be good for documenting that. We'll see.
