Well, that is just crappy...

We are back in Friday Harbor.  No, that's not the crappy part - we like Friday Harbor.  It has been our intent to come and go here over the next few weeks.  As anyone with a boat will tell you, there is always something that needs attention on a boat.  One of our pumps on the boat developed a leak... that pump if for the macerator, the pump that allows us to discharge our waste holding tank when 3+ miles off shore.  Needless to say, it hasn't gotten any use since we left Texas... there is a very decent pump out station here at Friday Harbor.

But, if the pump that dumps your waste tank develops a leak, it becomes an immediate (and odiferous) obvious situation on a small boat.  Yes, that needs to be replaced... and the sooner the better.  Surveying the situation, it doesn't look much different from replacing any ol' water pump, except this one is gonna be smelly.

For now, Joan has the pump "wrapped"; I'll get a replacement tomorrow and get that switched out.  I guess all my "training" as an excrement engineer on the past couple of "fun" jobs will pay off.

No photos, by choice. ;-)
